Please take a moment to review NOVA's Annual Security Reports As the General Maintenance Technician, you will: •Perform a variety of maintenance projects and preventative maintenance tasks including plumbing, electrical, mechanical and carpentry. •Specific tasks may include the installation, repair, and maintenance of multiple building systems. •Assist other trades, perform safety checks, emergency response, maintain and order supplies, as well as perform other duties as assigned.
•Ability to work with little or no supervision and make sound decisions independently. •Understand how to use a variety of hand tools and power tools properly and safely. •Able to work from ladders and scaffolds, to diagnose and repair a variety of building systems. •Ability to lift/move 75 lbs. on a regular basis. Ability to function in close quarters, or cramped environment •Ability to read technical documents, drawings, and blueprints. •Basic computer skills including Microsoft office suite. •Detail oriented •Possesses good communication skills. Minimum Qualifications •High School Graduate or equivalent •Previous experience in building trades (electrical, plumbing, HVAC, carpentry) •Valid Virginia driver's license and insurable driving record.
