Posting Summary: The University of Virginia Cavalier Computers department is looking for a motivated individual to provide exceptional customer service in our Cavalier Computers Repair Center as a Customer Service Representative & Technician. This position will ensure that all customer requests are communicated to the Repair Technicians, and deliver merchandise to University customers as necessary. The incumbent will also assist in some troubleshooting, diagnoses, repair help of customer computers, provide software support, and assist customers on the following operating systems: Mac OS, Windows 98, Windows 2000, Windows ME, and Windows XP.
A High School Diploma or equivalent is required, as is at least four years of relevant work experience. Preference will be given to applicants with prior work experience in computer repair. Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively communicate with customers are essential. Applicants must have some knowledge of computer and technology repair. The ability to effectively multi task is required. Strong technical skills in both Windows and MAC platforms is required. Preference will be given to applicants that already possess certifications from Computer Manufacturers, however certifications can be acquired while employed at Cavalier Computers.
This is a restricted position and continuation is dependent on funding and satisfactory performance.
