Posting Summary: The Darden School has an exciting part-time opportunity for a Distance Learning Support Technician to join its Darden Media team.
The Distance Learning Support Technician provides technical support for our live online learning programs including our executive MBA and Executive Education distance learning classes.
This a part-time (20 hours per week) position that requires availability between 4:00 pm - 9:00 pm. Wage positions are not eligible for benefits.
Typical Duties Include:
Sets up equipment and tests for primary and backup studios. Records and posts on-line classes to the learning management system. Provides live troubleshooting for remote students and faculty instructor and also training to students between class sessions. Proactively reviews software and hardware to seek ways to continually enhance the student and faculty experience. Provides training to faculty in one on one sessions. Conducts research on new audiovisual related technology innovations that can enhance the Darden experience for not only Darden students, but the entire Darden Community including alumni. Identifies technologies that can make current infrastructure more efficient or could enhance future experiences. Gathers valuable feedback from our diverse clientele to see how technology improvements can offer solutions to current challenges.
Required Minimum Level of Education: High School Diploma or Equivalent Required
Preferred Minimum Level of Education: *Degree Preferred
Preferred Specific Degree/Training: Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or Engineering
Required Minimum Level of Experience: Some - up to 4 years
Required Specific Experience: 2-4 years providing support for A/V equipment and on-line conferencing software
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Ability to setup/troubleshoot professional audio video equipment. Skilled in troubleshooting Windows and Mac and mobile platforms. Excellent communications and customer service skills. Ability to communicate and teach technical features to a non-technical audience is critical. Ability to multi task tech support conversations. Ability to learn new technology processes and techniques quickly. The candidate must be adept at providing unique and/or creative solutions utilizing both technical abilities as well as project management.
Required Computer Applications: Knowledge of synchronous and asynchronous conferencing softwares
